Austrian cuisine is diverse and very nutritious. The well-known symbol of Viennese cuisine is fried escalope of veal in breadcrumbs, which is usually served with vegetable salads. Met in general is very [polular here in all kinds - meat on the bone, fried chicken, boiled beef with apple horseradish, eggs "kayzershmarrrn" cheese soup, dried ham and goose liver "nokerl". Austrian desserts are famous throughout the world: for example, the famous apple strudel, rum cake, souffle "Salzburg nokkerln" baked in an egg white bread with jam and sugar "Arme Ritter", crepes and chocolate cake "zahertorten". Very popular beverage is glyuvayn (hot drink red wine, water, and spices), wheat beer (weizenbeer), Almdudler lemonade with herbs - national soft drink. And, of course, coffee, "merchant" - a strong double espresso, "ferlengerter" - weaker, "mélange" - with milk and whipped cream, "aynshpenner" - a double mocha in a tall glass.
