Highlights

Albertina
The 20 Habsburg Staterooms are spread out over two floors of the Albertina palace. The magnificent Hall of the Muses forms the centrepiece, flanked on...
Bratislava Castle
Bratislava Castle or Hrad sits on a hill overlooking the city. Initially a Roman frontier post, there has been a castle at this site since the 9th century. In 1881, it was reduced to rubble due to a fire and wasn’t reconstructed until the mid 1900s. Its appearance has been likened to an upside down table with four corner towers that look like table legs. In spite of its drab exterior the Castle is worth a visit for the museums housed inside as well as the panoramic views over the city
Hungarian Parliament Building
The Parliament building, a magnificent example of Neo-Gothic architecture (although displaying Renaissance and Baroque characters too), is just over 100 years old. In the 1880's an open tender was held for the design of the Parliament building. Construction based on the winning plan began in 1885 and the building was inaugurated on the 1000th anniversary of Hungary in 1896, and fully completed in 1902. Both runner-up designs were also built facing the Parliament building. One is the Museum of Ethnography and the other is the Ministry of Agriculture.

The Budapest Parliament building is the third largest Parliament building in the world. It has 691 rooms, 20 kilometers (12,5 miles) of stairs and at 96 meters (315 feet) it is the same height as the St. Stephen's Basilica. During the Communist era a large red star was added to the central tower above the dome of the building, but after its downfall, the star was removed. Unfortunately, modern air pollution constantly attacks the porous limestone walls, requiring frequent restoration. This also means that there is a good chance that you will see some scaffolding around the building.
Marienplatz
Marienplatz is the heart of Munich, its central and the most lovely part, decorated with a column of the Virgin Mary and the building of New and Old Town...
Neuschwanstein Castle
Neuschwanstein Castle is one of the most popular of all the palaces and castles in Europe. Every year 1.4 million people visit "the castle of the fairy-tale king". In the summer around 6,000 visitors a day stream through rooms that were intended for a single inhabitant.

The setting of Neuschwanstein could not be more idyllic. However, movement in the foundation area has to be continuously monitored, and the sheer rock walls must be repeatedly secured. The harsh climate also has a detrimental effect on the limestone façades, which will have to be renovated section by section over the next few years.
Vienna Opera House
The Vienna State Opera is located in the centre of Vienna, Austria. August von Sicardsburg and Eduard van der Nüll built the State Opera House from 18...
Wenceslas Square
Wenceslas Square is located in the heart of Prague and is popular not only among tourists: it is one of the favorite places of the cizizens of the city. Most sight-seeings in the area can be considered relatively "young" speaking aboit their age. It all began with a small settlement, which was called Stare Mesto and was located in 1348. At this point, as there were several large markets. The longest existed one - Horse Market, which in 1848 was renamed as a Wenceslas Square. It was only at the beginning of the XX century, when the area is surrounded by various shops and shops, this place was considered an elite residential district. That kind Square, which was formed in 1920, can be seen now. Preserved almost all the buildings of the time, and if not set of lights modern shops could be a confidence to say that the area has kept the traditional features of the old Prague. Flourished in the 20-ies of XX century: it was then that, after the merger Prague suburbs, there was erected a few banks, paved average series for trams and created a large car park.
