Castle Hluboka nad Vltavou (Hluboká nad Vltavou) - one of the most beautiful castles not only the Czech Republic but also in Europe.
The castle was founded in the mid-13th century on the rock height of 83 meters above the river Vltava near the town Podgrabi, 9 km from Ceske Budejovice (České Budějovice), and built in the Gothic style. His original name - the castle of Frauenberg. Later, it was reconstructed several times, acquiring the Renaissance, the Baroque features.
For the first 400 years of its existence the castle was replaced by 26 owners until in 1660 did not become the property of the Schwarzenberg family, who owned half by the time the South Bohemia.
In the 19th century, the castle has undergone a major renovation in the neo-gothic style. As a model for the reconstruction of the castle served as Windsor Castle.
In 1947 the castle Hluboka nad Vltavou (Hluboká nad Vltavou) was nationalized and since then is a public museum.

The castle complex includes 140 rooms, 11 towers, two courtyards, glazed conservatory, stables. The rooms of the castle are striking in their beauty: mirrors from Venice, the Belgian precious tapestries, granite fireplace in the 26 tonnes of gold painted ceiling with huge precious chandeliers. The castle walls are decorated with hunting trophies of its former owners. In addition, in the rooms of the castle can be seen armor Schwarzenberg family, a collection of weapons, porcelain, glass and antique tapestries. The castle library stored 12 thousand volumes of books in different languages.
On the wall of the castle, and at the gate, you can see the family coat of arms of the Schwarzenberg - crows that vyklёvyvaet eyes of Turkish soldiers. In 1599, the then owner of the castle Adolf Schwarzenberg for his victory over the Turks in Hungary was granted the title of Imperial Count.
Castle Hluboka nad Vltavou stands in the midst of a vast English park with an area of 190 hectares with rare species of trees and a system of ponds.
In 2010 the castle Hluboka nad Vltavou has become the best tourist destination of the Czech Republic.
